A history of The Pineapple Caper, LLC
Our journey began in 1997 when Tammy was a Pampered Chef consultant and part time caterer. Full time catering began in 2006. In addition to catering we would also host cooking classes and “Chopped” sessions at our home for groups of up to 30. In 2007 we purchased our first food truck.... and the Gourmet Grilled Cheese journey began. Our record for total number of sandwiches sold in a 2 hour period still stands at 452 when we served a graduate week concert event at Quinnipiac University.
We moved to Cape Cod in 2015 and changed the name to The Pineapple Caper – a name playfully linking hospitality, food, and location. It was on Cape that the catering action began to really take off... so we decided it was time to get our own commissary rather than renting.
We found the perfect spot in Osterville and launched the Pineapple Caper Café in April, 2017. By year end we had a team of great employees with both Bill and Tammy working full time in the kitchen. Our use of the food truck continued to expand, but mainly focused on private parties, micro breweries, and company events. In 2018 we purchased a new truck which we designed to meet our growing needs. We decided it was time to move to a food trailer to better make use of the shoulder and winter seasons on the cape. Our newest edition arrived in early 2022 and is the perfect vehicle to service our Cape Cod clients!
So here we are today: approaching our 8th year with the café; 16+ years with Food Trucks; and a journey of serving customers in the culinary field that goes back over 25 years.
We look forward to serving you again, and thanks for your continued patronage!
